DEAN 'Stylist' Archtop Bass

Fitted with John Birch MAGNUM 2 Humbuckers
and custom pots/switching from MEC.

I'd always hankered after owning a big-bodied Archtop, but I knew I'd never have the kind of money to afford a Gretsch Broadkaster.  Besides, that bass only has a short-scale neck, and I prefer something longer.

The 'Stylist' was the perfect solution.  Saw her in Macari's on Charing X Rd., and after 20 minutes of playing, I knew we were meant for each other!

The only thing about her I didn't like were the pickups.  They were nasty, cheap things with very low output, so I invested £150 in a pair of seriously posh replacements and converted her to stereo using custom-made stacked vol/tone pots from German company MEC.

Sadly, Dean have discontinued this model now.  There are still some with dealers, though, so grab one while you can!
